TEACHER TRAINING, JULY-AUG  2009 IN FT COLLINS, COLORADO
Includes EFT and Other Complimentary Approaches

Offered by Greg Marsh, CNVT

Four-week session will start week of July 13
Please contact us for additional details

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS will make me a successful Natural Vision Teacher?
Natural Vision Teacher backgrounds vary widely. Ideal candidates have a strong affinity for natural healing approaches including emotional healing, enjoy teaching groups or individuals, and thrive on helping each student find the right mix of insight, techniques, and faith to improve their own eyesight. This training is available without certification (at a lower tuition) if you simply want to get a deeper understanding of the Bates Method for your own eyesight.

Partial listing of Training Program content:

  • Learn the key Bates Method techniques and ways to apply them for different people and different eyesight conditions.
  • Learn advanced Bates techniques, practice them, and learn what conditions they can help, and why.
  • Learn and use EFT throughout the training program, a powerful, simple, and unobtrusive way to dissolve emotional components that keep people from seeing. (Offering EFT does not require practitioner certification; see link under Prerequisites, below)
  • Learn natural vision applications for complimentary techniques such as BrainGym, rebounder (mini-trampoline) techniques, guided visualizations, breathing exercises, acupressure, “feeling the visual pathway”, fostering a dialog between the eyes and brain, a martial art form for loosening tight vision.
  • Wherever possible, learning will be hands-on, learn-by-doing
  • Practice of vision activities regularly throughout class times, to absorb techniques and help establish a sense of commitment.
  • Special considerations and suggestions for children.
  • Key nutritional points, including cutting edge supplements and other niche products that report good results.
  • Learn popular names, books, and approaches for vision improvement so you are informed when people ask about them. For example, Roberto Kaplan, Jacob Liberman, the See Clearly Method and other “eye exercise” programs, microstimulation, Accomotrac, color therapy, essential oils, etc. An overview of behavioral optometry will be included.
  • A review of lasik including common problems, and ways to be sensitive and helpful to people who have difficulties after lasik or other eye surgery.
  • How people with “eye diseases” can be helped; examples. (Never purport to replace medical treatment, only provide suggestions to let go of visual strain patterns to promote natural healing)
  • Legal precautions, and the need to present your teaching always as an educational approach, never as any sort of medical intervention.
  • Business considerations; ways to promote services and make an income as a Natural Vision Teacher.

Prerequisites for Training
Each participant will bring a rich and different experience to the training program. To ensure that we have some common ground for a solid start in our training, please listen/read/reflect/explore the following before the training begins. The books are available on amazon.com; other items as noted.

  • Secrets of Regaining Your Vision Naturally CD program. For familiarity with Greg Marsh’s teaching philosophy and approach, participants should listen to this 7 hour program and explore the techniques given. See www.visionimprovementcenter.com for a discounted price on the CD program.
  • Relearning to See, by Thomas Quackenbush. Read at least sections 1, 3, and 4 of this book about the Bates Method. These are sections about basics, plus Quackenbush’s view of the “3 principles” and “3 habits” of Natural Vision. These three sections make up about 150 pages of the 500 page book.
  • Better Eyesight, The Complete Magazines of William H. Bates, M.D. Edited by Thomas Quackenbush. Become familiar with this excellent 600 page resource by thumbing through the 11 years of very readable articles and case studies, then look up several of your interest areas in the index and read a few relevant articles.
  • Heal Your Body, by Louise Hay. Spend a fascinating couple of hours with this indispensable book. Read the forward, review what thinking patterns she says lead to various eyesight conditions, and scan the entire book to notice common threads among all of the health conditions and injuries that you can recall in your own life.
  • The EFT Manual. Free 80 page PDF booklet available along with a free newsletter subscription at the EFT website, www.emofree.com. Read part 1, and notice the “shortcuts”. The book has not been updated since EFT developer Gary Craig and most practitioners went to the shortcut version (and also now omit the “9-gamut” part), with no loss in effectiveness. We will be using the EFT “tapping” technique to help dissolve fears that contribute to vision problems, throughout the training. (It took me awhile to get on board a few years ago, but it works!)

Home Study and Practice during Training to better absorb techniques and help you improve your own vision:

  • Keep a journal of your daily natural vision practice. Do at least 60 minutes of vision activities per day during the training program. Include progress markers and other notes.
  • Add to your daily practice at least 2 rounds of EFT per day, and make comments in your journal.
  • Watch at least an assigned 30 hours of the provided 80+ hours of EFT workshops from Gary Craig’s EFT Foundational and Intermediate video sets (including some specific vision tapping). These resources will be provided free to participants under the duplication terms at emofree.com.
  • Read and absorb assigned sections of these excellent Natural Vision Improvement resource books available on amazon.com (weekly assignments will relate to class content):
-- Relearning to See, by Thomas Quackenbush - additional chapters beyond the prerequisites
-- Better Eyesight: The Complete Magazines of William H. Bates, various articles
-- The Bates Method for Better Eyesight without Glasses, by William H. Bates, M.D. (or read the unabridged version Perfect Sight without Glasses online at www.central-fixation.com
-- Help Yourself to Better Eyesight, by Margaret Corbett
-- Better Vision Now, by Clara Hackett
-- Additional books will recommended for your personal library, but not required for the training

Obtaining Optional Certification: If you do not want the certification, you are welcome to participate fully in the above training and receive a certificate of participation without becoming a Certified Natural Vision Teacher. The following are additional requirements for certification:

Practice Teaching Requirements for “Certified Natural Vision Teacher” certificate

  • Phone consultations. Between the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weekends of the Training, exchange 30 minute phone consultations with another participant to get a feel for providing telephone support. Turn in notes from your experience.
  • Teaching in group setting. Each participant will get chances to practice teaching within the training class. We will have careful guidelines to ensure that feedback is given in an encouraging way.
  • Individual instruction. Provide at least 2 hours of consultation to one or two individuals during the training program. Family or friend is okay, but keep a “professional” tone. Turn in a brief description of your experience(s).
  • Also see separate practicum, below.
