About Greg Marsh and Vision Improvement Center

Greg Marsh, Certifed Natural Vision Teacher, Fort Collins, Colorado, Secrets of Regaining Your Vision NaturallyBewildered and confused by the eye test he "flunked", Greg Marsh first got glasses in third grade. By high school he was so nearsighted he had to walk up close to the eye chart to make out the big “E”. Greg's prescription got up to -12 and -14 diopters, plus astigmatism. When he was drafted for the U.S. Army toward the end of the Viet Nam war, he was disqualified due to poor eyesight.

Greg came across a book about the Bates Method of Natural Vision Improvement in his late 20's. "I was extremely skeptical. As an engineer I'd always liked things to be black-or-white truths. This book looked very gray to me! I bought the book out of a discount bin, mostly so I could prove to myself the author was nuts. But I found the Bates teacher who wrote it to be compassionate and sincere, and I found myself believing her many stories about people recovering good vision."

Greg acquired every book he could find about Natural Vision Improvement. He went to a seminar, followed an audio "eye exercise" program and explored things on his own. He knew that improvement was possible because of encouraging momentary flashes of good vision, but at first nothing would stick. Greg met the occasional person who had restored their vision naturally. But mostly he just met people like himself who believed in the methods and made little progress on their own. Several years passed.

Essential points of Natural Vision Improvement and the Bates Method eluded Greg until he studied with one of the world's leading Natural Vision Teachers, Thomas Quackenbush. In cooperation with Dr. Janet Goodrich and a handful of other Natural Vision Teachers, Quackenbush had delved deeply back into Dr. William H. Bates original teachings and breathed fresh life into crucial very subtle points that seemed to have gotten lost since Dr. Bates' died in 1931. Finally progress came more quickly. Greg Marsh went on to become a Certified Natural Vision Teacher and founded the Vision Improvement Center in Fort Collins, Colorado. Today Greg continues to learn every day through his work with individuals and teaching workshops, and by keeping in touch with other Natural Vision Teachers and new approaches.

Greg Marsh's pursuit of better vision also led him to a 25-year study of martial art and meditation. He found the quest of "letting go" of extra tension in these studies analogous to the relaxation that is central in the Bates Method. He was also drawn to explore many other natural healing approaches. Vision is a deeply ingrained part of who we are - how we "see" the world - and many people who have taken Greg's workshops or received personal instruction have made exciting changes in their lives as their eyesight improved. Greg is skilled in helping individuals and groups get to a receptive state of mind so that changes in vision can take place.

After a lot of urging by graduates of his programs to "get this material recorded", Greg Marsh created the top selling 6-CD program "Secrets of Regaining Your Vision Naturally" for www.mercola.com. With a million subscribers, Dr. Mercola operates one of the world's most popular natural health websites, and he has a strong commitment to natural vision improvement. Greg is continuing to make recordings, including the 2-CD program "Relax Your Way to Clearer Sight".

Weekend workshops and phone consultations are available though this website if you want personal help from Greg Marsh learning and applying the Bates Method and Natural Vision Improvement techniques and principles for your eyesight condition. If you live in northern Colorado or are visiting, Greg Marsh also offers introductory classes, 5-week workshops, and personal consultations.

Natural Vision Improvement is making a resurgence after hundreds of teachers in the United States were driven from teaching the Bates Method in the 1950's and early 1960's, by threat of legal action from state optometry boards. Natural and personal healing approaches are much more accepted today, and Natural Vision Teachers make it very clear they offer strictly an educational approach. You are advised to see an appropriate licensed health care provider for any medical or prescription needs for your eyes.
